At just 18, Harriet is lighting the path for younger children at the #BaNgaAfayo Community Center.
Every day, she helps little ones learn through play and discovery—guiding them in the early stages of reading, counting, and exploring the world around them. She also volunteers in our community library, helping children uncover the power of words and stories.
But Harriet is not just a teacher—she’s a student too. While supporting others, she is also preparing for her Senior Six examinations, using every spare moment in the library to revise and the Digital Learning Hub to sharpen her ICT skills.
Helping children learn makes me feel strong,” Harriet says. “But I’m also learning every day, because I want to become someone who can make real change.
Harriet is a beautiful reminder that when you empower a young woman, you impact a generation.
