MARIA RINAH NAmatovu

Executive Director

Maria is a fierce feminist and advocate for children’s rights, who strongly believes that every child and mother should have equal access to quality health care and support. Her passion for child and maternal health is grounded in her understanding of the importance of empowering women and girls in her community.

Maria has been instrumental in championing the rights of at-risk adolescent girls and out-of-school girls, providing them with education and economic empowerment opportunities. She is a strong believer in the transformative power of feminism, and works tirelessly to challenge gender-based discrimination and inequality.

Christine Jangwen

Programs Manager

Christine is a passionate social worker, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Makerere University, with 4 years field working experience in SRHR for adolescents and young people, GBV and human rights. Her professional life includes developing, coordinating and implementing community projects most especially in underserved communities. Through the years, she has worked as a project officer, peer educator and volunteered with international NGOs.

As a leader, youth champion and advocate, she has engaged in activities that enhance community development where she has managed to empower multitudes of young people for the past 4 years.

Jose Ddiba

Director For Education Programs

Joseph is passionate about children’s rights, a leader and social entrepreneur. He is an enthusiastic team leader with over 6 years of experience in providing care and support to children, young people and women who are socially excluded. Having a consistent track record of working successfully with children, young people, and families all within underserved communities.

Through Ba Nga Afayo Initiative Uganda, Joseph has created a movement that has supported and empowered over 1500 orphans, children, young people from poverty stricken families gain access to quality education, sporting opportunities and vocational training.
