Our current focus is on intentionally strengthening, evaluating, and documenting the long-term impact of our Cradle-to-Career approach — ensuring that every child we serve moves from vulnerability to stability, dignity, and opportunity. We are building not just programs, but proof of transformation
By 2025, 80% of our intended Cradle-to-Career programs were operational at the community center. We continued refining, testing, and strengthening interventions to determine what works best for rural communities. The focus shifted from launching programs to strengthening quality and measurable impact.
Truth Design Academy was officially incorporated as a social enterprise under Ba Nga Afayo. The Academy was later recognized by the Olympism Innovation Hub for its regenerative finance model — equipping young people with market-relevant creative and digital skills while reinvesting revenue to sustain community programs. This marked a major step toward long-term financial independence […]
After years of integrated programming, we recognized that our work had naturally evolved into what is globally known as a Cradle-to-Career model — a coordinated, long-term approach supporting children from early childhood through education and into employment. Ba Nga Afayo Initiative Uganda was formally registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States, enabling our growing community of U.S.-based individual donors to support our work more seamlessly through tax-deductible contributions. This milestone strengthened our international governance, accountability systems, and long-term financial sustainability while expanding our global network of supporters.
As programs expanded, operations officially began within our still-unfinished community center — transforming it into a living laboratory for innovation, testing, and integrated service delivery. What started as a construction site became the heartbeat of our holistic model.
Ba Nga Afayo partnered with Global Fund for Children under the Partnership to Educate All Kids (PEAK) initiative. Through this collaboration, we supported children to heal, learn through play, and overcome educational barriers intensified by the COVID-19 crisis.
We launched Magical Classrooms, a home-based Early Childhood Development (ECD) initiative addressing the severe shortage of early learning opportunities in rural Kayunga — a challenge worsened by teacher attrition during the pandemic. This marked our intentional expansion into the early years, recognizing that learning foundations begin long before primary school.
Ba Nga Afayo partnered with Sports Works International to strengthen and professionalize our Sports for Development programming, improving structure, safeguarding, and long-term athlete development.
In response to rising youth idleness and vulnerability during lockdowns, we launched our Sports for Development program, using structured sport as a tool for engagement, mentorship, life skills development, and psychosocial wellbeing. Sports became a powerful pathway for healing, discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
