What if a football could do more than inspire the next athlete? What if it could help a child stay in school, make safer choices, and protect their future?
At BaNgaAfayo, this is the power we see in football every day. Through our Sports for Change program, we use the game to create safe spaces where children can learn, grow, and have honest conversations about the choices that shape their lives.

During our session at Kiwooza R/C. Primary School in Kayunga, the football pitch became a classroom without walls. As children played, worked together, and encouraged one another, they also learned about the importance of abstinence, staying in school, resisting negative peer pressure, and making healthy choices that protect their health and future.

The session wasn’t about winning a match it was about winning at life. Through football, children discovered that every decision they make today has the power to shape tomorrow. They learned that staying in school opens doors to opportunity, that abstinence helps protect their health and education, and that choosing positive friendships can help them avoid risky behaviours.

The impact was visible in their confidence, participation, and willingness to engage. Children asked questions, shared their thoughts, and left with a stronger understanding of how to protect themselves and pursue their dreams. More importantly, they walked away knowing they have the power to make choices that lead to healthier, brighter futures.
At BaNgaAfayo , we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, and empowered. By combining football with life skills and health education, we are not only nurturing active children we are raising a generation that is confident, informed, and prepared to build stronger communities.
