Due to the absence of basic services along with overwhelming poverty, the children of Nakaziba, a remote village in Kayunga district face immense challenges. Not only do these children have to walk miles to local schools outside their village, they cannot afford the cost of uniforms, shoes, lunch and books. It is no surprise that many children turn to drugs and crime at an early age. In a community afflicted with an unemployment rate of 80%, an HIV/AIDS rate of 30%, and high teenage pregnancy, Ba Nga Afayo Initiative Uganda’s multi sports facility supported by SportsWorks Int’l Ngo, Inc. will enable children resist forces that would drag them down.
The facility will provide children in our program and those in our undeserved communities with access to quality sport and opportunities to participate in quality sports.
