We are delighted to share the success of the recent collaboration between Ba Nga Afayo Initiative Uganda and TATCO Uganda, supported by the Collaboration Grant from the Global Fund for Children (GFC). This partnership aims to address the challenges of low-quality education in the rural villages of Kayunga District and enhance learning outcomes through innovative teaching methods.
In response to the pressing need for improved educational standards, we organized a two-day teachers’ refresher training aimed at revitalizing teaching practices and integrating play-based learning methodologies. The event buzzed with excitement as educators from margnalised communities converged to embrace innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
The enthusiasm and positive feedback from our teachers underscored the transformative power of collaboration and shared vision. With unwavering dedication and expertise, TATCO Uganda played a pivotal role in guiding our educators towards excellence, inspiring hope, and igniting a passion for lifelong learning.
Kayunga District, like many rural areas in Uganda, faces significant challenges in providing quality education. Limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and a lack of trained educators have contributed to low academic performance and limited opportunities for students.
Through collaboration with teachers, parents, and partners like GFC, we are breaking down barriers and championing the right to quality education for all. The two-day teachers’ refresher workshop marked a significant milestone in our journey towards educational transformation.
By equipping educators with innovative pedagogical tools and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, we are standing up to the systematic discrimination of rural schools, which denies children the preparation, tools and support they need in order to succeed in primary school.
