We are thrilled to share that Ba Nga Afayo Initiative Uganda (BaNgaAfayo) has been recognized as one of the grantees of the Olympism365 Innovation Hub! This prestigious program, a collaboration between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Beyond Sport, and Women Win, highlights innovative organizations using sport as a tool for sustainable development.
BaNgaAfayo is among nine social innovators awarded under the prestigious Enterprise365 Fund, a program that promotes income generation models, sustainable finance solutions, and regenerative investments to address social challenges through sport.
BaNgaAfayo’s innovation, Truth Design Academy, operates as a social enterprise addressing youth unemployment, poverty, and limited access to education. It offers affordable, accredited courses in high-demand fields such as Graphic design, Video editing & production, Web design, Coding, 3D animation, and Still photography. Proceeds from these programs directly support BaNgaAfayo’s Sports for Development programs, creating a sustainable funding model that empowers young people while advancing community development.
As one of the Enterprise365 recipients, BaNgaAfayo will receive part of the $300,000 funding provided by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This support will enable BaNgaAfayo to expand Truth Design Academy’s programs, enhancing its capacity to generate sustainable income that fuels BaNgaAfayo’s mission of using sports to advance gender equity, education, and sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.
We are honored to be part of this global cohort, representing 19 countries, and look forward to continuing our work in using sports for community development and empowerment.
