Our Mission For 2017

It brings great joy and gratification to witness the lives of the Orphaned and other Vulnerable Children of Uganda being changed through various interventions. This is what the team, donors and partners of Ba Nga Afayo Initiative Uganda are committed to do.

As we prepare to start 2017, we want to say thank you for your support and the great impact you have helped us make in Uganda. We are proud of the changed and empowered lives in the community we serve, but our work is yet to be finished. With over 400 children in our programs we are eager for 2017, and with it the new opportunities for change, empowerment, and transformed lives. With over 400 children in our programs we are eager for 2017, and with it the new opportunities for change, empowerment, and transformed lives.

But more than that, people will know that they are loved and cherished.  And they will know the name of Jesus our Savior.

2016! The Year That Was

Giving out some food for emergency relief during Xmas season, some families barely hard anything to eat.

2016 was a trying year for most households in Uganda. The financial economy was at its worst with the dollar rate being at UGX 3600 which made it so hard for the people in our community to earn more than $1 a day. As if that was not bad enough, famine hit most of the big part of Uganda with the central region (where we work) inclusive. This is a state that many families are yet to recover from till now. Meaning they access one meal or half a meal in a day.

As we all know, Poverty Hits Children the Hardest. Many children were affected. Being that the August – December was a promotional term for those who are lucky to attend school, schools could not allow them to sit for exams without completing their school fees. Other children missed classes to do different ‘jobs’ so as to pay for school plus additional requirements.

The 2017 Mission

sula_transformation
Sula is one of the few children whose lives were changed in 2016 after getting a sponsor.

2016 may have got us unawares but we need to be prepared for 2017. Let us not let the fate of these children be defined by just the economy or the changing seasons when we can do something about it. With your help, we intend to take these children back to school. For those that lost all hope of ever gaining an education, we shall restore that hope. For those that lack shoes, we shall provide. We are going to do even greater things than we did for these children in 2016. We are going to make sure 2017 works out and this can only happen when we work together.

Currently, we have over 300 children under our sponsorship program with only 15 that have individual sponsors.

This 2017 we believe these children will all have individual sponsors and we also intend to bring more deserving children under our care. There are still so many deserving children to help, so many lives to touch, so many wounds to nurse and 2017 is the year to ensure this.

The bible says God loves a cheerful giver and that what you sow, you reap. Sow a future in these children and surely God is going to bless the works of your hands exceedingly and abundantly.
